HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN THERE?
6 years
WHO IS YOUR IDEAL CLIENT?
My ideal client is someone who cares about long term quality, wants to understand their water, and values honest guidance over quick fixes.
HOW AND WHY DID YOU GET STARTED IN YOUR FIELD OF WORK?
Water Doctors has been serving Wisconsin since 1982, and my husband and I took over the business in 2019. We saw an opportunity to build on a strong foundation while modernizing how people understand and think about their water. Clean water impacts health, homes, and daily life more than most people realize, and I wanted to be part of a business that solves real problems and stands behind its work.
WHAT IS A BIG MISCONCEPTION ABOUT YOUR INDUSTRY?
A big misconception is that water treatment is one size fits all and that a lower priced system will work for every home. Every water source and household is different. When a system is not properly matched, families can use more water, wear out appliances faster, and still feel frustrated with their water every day.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB?
I love helping people understand their water and watching the relief when a problem they have lived with for years is finally solved. Whether it is bad taste, hard water issues, or protecting their home from damage, there is real satisfaction in providing cleaner, better water to our clients.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE STARTING IN YOUR INDUSTRY?
Care about people first, not just the product. If you focus on truly helping someone solve a problem and doing what is right for their home, the rest will follow. Learn your craft and be honest even when it is not the easiest answer.
WHAT one BOOK WOULD YOU RECOMMEND?
Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor E. Frankl
WHAT HOBBIES, SPORTS, PASTIMES DO YOU DO OUTSIDE OF WORK?
I enjoy reading, especially historical fiction and novels that let me completely unplug. I like camping and spending time at our cabin in northern Wisconsin, which is my happy place. I also enjoy traveling, puzzles, and quiet time to recharge.
WHERE WAS YOUR LAST VACATION?
My last vacation was to Scotland last fall, celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary with my husband, John.
WHEN YOU WERE A KID, WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GREW UP?
I thought I wanted to be a concert pianist.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO ADD?
I make a point to look for the wins each day, even when they are small or hard to find. It is easy to focus on the negative, and when you do, that is all you start to see. Like deciding on a certain type of car and suddenly seeing it everywhere, what you focus on shapes your perspective. Training yourself to notice the positive does not eliminate challenges, but it changes how you move through them.
