What to Wear

While your company headshot will be waist-up, we are also photographing you for your company’s Evergreen Team Photo. This will be a FULL LENGTH PHOTO. This means you need to bring/wear the appropriate clothing - including footwear.

In general, you'll want to dress for the best day on your job. (meeting with clients, giving a presentation, etc.)

Here are some basic suggestions to consider when preparing for your headshot:

  • If you are asked to wear logo apparel, certain styles or colors or even a uniform, please do so.

  • Solid clothing photographs better than patterns. If you prefer patterns, at least try to avoid horizontal stripes. (This rule does not apply to ties and socks!)

  • While you don't have to be boring, traditional or neutral colors are better for headshots than bright, over-saturated colors.

  • Minimal jewelry (or none at all) allows the focus of the photograph to be on your face rather than your fashion sense.

  • Wear something you feel good in. If your clothes don’t fit right and you feel uncomfortable and stiff, the tension will show in your face.

  • That said, this will seem contradictory: loose and flowing clothing will make you look larger while well-fitting apparel will make you look slimmer.

  • Steam your clothes if they are wrinkled.

  • If you wear a polo or button down, choose a newer one so the collar isn’t saggy.

  • If you wear makeup, apply it a little heavier for your photo shoot.

  • If you don't wear makeup, don't start now! :)

  • Clean your glasses.

  • Floss your teeth.
