HOW AND WHY DID YOU GET STARTED IN YOUR FIELD OF WORK?
After 22 years in broadcasting, I left to begin consulting small business owners on their positioning and branding to help grow their business. During the pandemic, I hosted live events to connect small business owners and answer questions. Through consistent, daily events a community formed. Since June 1, 2020, the Small Business Owners Community has been hosting an online group and live events to solve problems, capture opportunities and connect our members.
love doing this work because I can support entrepreneurs make their business dreams come true. It's VERY fulfilling stuff.
WHAT IS A BIG MISCONCEPTION ABOUT YOUR INDUSTRY?
Small Business Owners are not a charity case! The smartest, hardest working people I know are using their time and talent to build a business that propels their family forward to a brighter future. For those of you not in the small business space, you usually hear about small business owners as a group that always "needs help" from politicians. Sure, we'll take all the help we can get, but entrepreneurs are incredible individuals that do amazing work that stands on par with any business out there!

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE STARTING IN YOUR INDUSTRY?
No matter your product or service, as an entrepreneur you're a sales person FIRST. If you don't want to sell, work for someone else.

Buy Back Your Time by Dan Martell. It should be required reading for all entrepreneurs.
